Cellulite is described as fat deposits under your skin, a skin condition affecting eighty to ninety percent of women and fewer men, as a woman’s distribution of fat and connective tissue is different to men, causing this orange peel effect which also contributes to sagging skin.

Personally, I noticed that when I stopped exercising and consuming a diet high in sugar during winter – the first stages of cellulite became visible on my thighs and buttocks, subsequently I went on a rampage to find out what I can do to for cellulite reduction before summer and here are the best remedies I found that helped get rid of my cellulite.

Is There A Cure For Cellulite?

Everyone is different, while there is no known cure for cellulite, a combination of treatments can help ease the appearance of this orange peel effect and helps eliminate cellulite as well as stop cellulite from progressing.

Treatment For Cellulite

  1. Exercise

Get moving every day for at least thirty minutes a day. You will find that doing light cardio makes a world of difference to the appearance of cellulite and in my opinion is the best way to remove cellulite. Gradually advance your exercise regimen to include weights, and foam roll, which are effective cellulite exercises, targeted at areas of concern, which are effective for deeper dimples caused by cellulite.
Effectiveness: Highly effective

  1. Diet

Diet and exercise works hand in hand with regards to cellulite reduction as well as to prevent cellulite.
Challenge yourself to not consume any sugar, and unhealthy fats and carbohydrates for at least six weeks. If there is an event or fancy dinner coming up consume this in moderation – but ensure that sugar is not a regular in your diet.
By applying a regular exercise regimen and a healthy diet – there will be a noticeable difference in the appearance of your cellulite in four to six weeks.
Effectiveness: Highly effective

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Natural remedies for cellulite like apple cider vinegar are highly effective. Have this every day, if you fall between grades two and three above.
Effectiveness: Highly effective

  1. Gelatin and Collagen Supplements

If you are over thirty years old your collagen production has reduced and it’s time for a bit of a boost in this department. Add gelatin and collagen supplements to your diet. Alternatively, add a bone broth soup to your daily menu, which is high in collagen.
Effectiveness: Highly effective

  1. Omegas

This should be part of your daily supplement intake already – but in case it isn’t – these are essential fats you want to ensure you have.
Effectiveness: Highly effective

  1. DIY Caffeine Scrub

Apply this to areas of concern up to three times a week for severe cellulite.
Effectiveness: Fairly effective

  1. Creams and Washes

Whilst anti cellulite creams and lotions cannot remove cellulite, using lotions with the correct ingredients help in preventative measures and prolongs loss of elasticity in skin, which makes cellulite look less severe.
Many anti cellulite products are perfect for immediate results, were some crèmes plump out skin for a few hours.
Consider crèmes with retinol, vitamin C, coffee and antioxidants.
Effectiveness: Fairly effective
My Recommendation: Nivea Q10 Plus Firming Crème

  1. Salon Treatments

A little extra help can be applied with the use of non-surgical cellulite removal treatments such as Exilis, which uses radiotherapy to heat areas of concern – perfect for immediate results.
Shock wave therapy is also a popular, effective and proven cellulite treatment for improving skin elasticity over long term thus making cellulite less visible.
These treatments penetrate and targets fat deposits.
Beware that treatments like liposuction can make cellulite appear worse.
Effectiveness: Highly effective – a short term solution

  1. Stay Hydrated

Having a healthy lymphatic system ensures that there are less fat deposits in your skin.
Effectiveness: Highly effective

  1. Dry Brushing

Three minutes twice a day is all you need to encourage optimum circulation, which is essential for the breakdown of fat deposits.
Effectiveness: Moderately effective

  1. Cellulite Massaging

Cellulite massage treatment accelerates circulation, however unlike treatments like Exilis and Shock Wave Therapy – massage cannot reach deeper fat deposits. Consider the Bella Baci Cupping treatment
Effectiveness: Fairly effective

A healthy looking body is a series of good habits – while cellulite is not considered a health risk – cellulite does appear to look worse in people who follow an unhealthy lifestyle.
