Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation Review

This gem of a foundation I finally tried – The Catrice Cosmetics HD Liquid Coverage Foundation needed to be added to my Foundation series, pronto!

The Catrice Cosmetics foundation is the drugstore dupe for Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, but does not lack in results – just in the price tag, which of course is a win!

Here is my Catrice Cosmetics foundation Review – I tested the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation in warm beige – 040:

Catrice Cosmetics Foundation Review

  • Full coverage
  • 24 hour wear
  • Light, breathable foundation

Key Ingredients:

This lightweight, water – based foundation includes silica ingredients, however, I found it paired well with various primers: water, oil as well as silicone based primers.

Personally, I prefer makeup when it feels lightweight, especially for spring / summer, this particular foundation is the ultimate in lightweight foundation, in comparison to the various foundations I’ve tested and reviewed thus far.

I prefer to use a water-based primer, as silicone primers are thicker in consistency thus, deflects from the “second – skin” foundation effect that this product boasts. My staple primer is the Smashbox photo finish primer water, which is both a primer and setting spray.

To set my foundation, I used the Becca Hydra – Mist Set and Refresh Powder, that I received in my Boxycharm August box, which has been a game changer for me when it comes to setting powders.

Additionally, this formula is dermatologically tested.

The elegantly styled foundation packaging is a liquid foundation with a dropper applicator, a few drops is all that is required for effortless, hassle free full coverage.

Unfortunately, the only con to this impressive Catrice Cosmetics cruelty free drugstore foundation is the colour range as there are only seven shades to select from, warm beige being my shade match, it’s a close enough match but I could use a yellow undertone which is not available.

The foundation is true to its 24-hour wear promise, it does last the full day. My T – zone did look a bit luminous after 8 hours of wear, but not as oily as other foundations. I love that you can apply this foundation without having to worry about checking on the wear constantly as it also doesn’t shift, move of wipe off.

Similar to the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, this foundation feels natural and breathable. The liquid does settle into your skin and may not give quite the luminous feel of it’s higher end counterpart, as it can reveal a few bumps or imperfections, however it’s not too harsh and forgivable as it’s a drugstore variation.
