Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Set From Cult Beauty Review

The beauty brand, which brought us, the “brow revolution”Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH), has since added a multitude of game changers to their shelves that are of a high quality and has become synonymous in the world of makeup.

I recently purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick Set from Cult Beauty and here is my full review of this summer inspired, limited edition set.

Anastasia Matte Lipstick Set

Exquisitely packaged, this range of nude mattes are travel sized and beautifully encompassed in white lipstick containers embossed with the golden ABH logo – the packaging is what caught my eye from the usual black or gold lipstick packaging granted, I wanted to add this set to my makeup collection.

Shades & Swatches:

 There are four shades

  • Guava: A light coral with shimmer effect
  • Coconut: A toasted rose
  • Orange Blossom: Soft peach sheen
  • Lychee: A blushed mauve with extra sparkle for a glam effect of note.

Pigment, Textures Coverage & Wear:

The pigment of each is light – especially on my skin tone (yellow with peach undertones) and a few applications are required for ultimate or full coverage.

The feeling of each is luxurious and non – drying, however, the Lychee with it’s glitter particles felt gritty when applied yet, looked so beautiful once on – I didn’t mind.

Formulated for a good 4 – 6 hours of wear – this lipstick didn’t come off even when eating.

I paid R400 for this lip set while Cult Beauty was having a promotion, however you can purchase it for R480 on Cult Beauty with no customs as it’s under R500, furthermore it’s free international shipping – you should take full advantage of!

Where To Purchase From:

The Cult Beauty website here:

  • Luxury makeup set to add to your collection
  • Beautiful colours
  • Non – drying mattes
  • Vegan

  • Not full coverage
  • Rough feel due to glitter on shade “Lychee”

I’m so glad that I added this matte lipstick set to my collection – they stand out from the nude colours I do have, especially the Coconut and Orange Blossom – I’m still experimenting on how to use these colours for my skin tone – I love the full golden effect it adds to my complexion.

In addition, I am thrilled that it’s a set with a difference not just in terms of usual colours but also in texture – though the gritty texture may not be too desirable with the Lychee lippie – it’s a beautiful colour that’s been elevated with glitter inclusion – perfect for those summer parties and soft glam looks.

  1. Absolutely love cult beauty! They very often throw promotions and it’s actually alot more affordable than most sellers in Cape Town. Key tip always is to try as much as possible to stay under R500/450, unless you’re willing to pay customs. Their services are very efficient. I ordered than Anastasia mini liquid lipstick set and I love it! It’s very full coverage and spread evenly, only problems with it is that it dries down immensely fast and hence a problem of application is not easily reversible, as well as the inability to layer it due to peeling.

    1. Yes I totally agree about Cult Beauty being super efficient and affordable. Even some second hand makeup retails for their cost. We are the same people lol! I didn’t find this set of lippies full coverage on my skin tone though – I think it’s better suited for that to lighter skin tones. But nevertheless I LOVE this set and I definitely want more ABH 🌺🌺🌺 thanks for sharing your thoughts.
