Innovative and budget friendly cosmetic brand – Colourpop Cosmetics has an array of mini eyeshadow palettes, with purple being my favourite colour, I immediately gravitated toward the “It’s My Pleasure” eyeshadow palette.
Here is my Colourpop “It’s my Pleasure” eyeshadow palette review.
Packaging:
Neat, minimalistic, attractive and quirky – the “It’s My Pleasure” pressed powder shadow palette are arranged on a white pan with mirror for convenience – I find I always make use of my eyeshadow palette mirrors.
Charmingly presented in a purple compact, you will find that the eyeshadow names are printed on the back of the palette and not on a separate sleeve that I always seem to misplace – which I’m definitely in favour of.
Colourpop It’s My Pleasure Swatches:

With a total of nine shades including lavenders, berries and violets with textures of mattes and buttery metallics, this mini eyeshadow palette has pulled all the stops.
For transition shades, I use “Kittenfish” and “Pretty Cool” delicately and “Earthshine” and “Mr. Sandman” metallic shades as inner corner eyeshadows.
Pigment & Textures:
These shadows glide on effortlessly, especially the metallics that have a soft and buttery feel.
Each shadow is highly pigmented and just a touch is required for for maximum colour impact.
It’s imperative to apply an eyeshadow primer as I found these eyeshadows slightly stain my skin, even with a primer on.
Fallout:
Fallout is minimum for the metallic shades, however the more product you pick up with your brush, the more fallout you experience – only a little shadow is required for application; there is no fallout for the mattes.
As a suggestion, apply your eyeshadow first when using this palette, as the metallic shades have glitter particles, which will mess up your makeup.
How To Use:
Easy to blend and mix and match shades, watch this video with a look I created:
Cost And How To Purchase in South Africa:
$12 on the Colourpop Cosmetics website
International shipping on this site is $9.99 (about R150).
International shipping is done via the post office (so don’t be in a hurry to receive your parcel, it takes a while).
Shipping is free internationally if purchases amount to $50 and over – but remember custom charges for this at approximately 45% of the total.
I do prefer making purchases at $50 at a time, especially when there is a sale, so I get more for my buck and even with the custom charges I still save this way.
Alternatively, you can order Colourpop cosmetics through a forwarding courier company such as Aramex Global Shopper and if your purchases are under R500, expect to pay about R200 for shipping costs.
For US shipping the flat rate is $5.99 (about R90) so shipping will cost a total of about R290 with this method – I personally rather pay customs through the South African post office.
Another option is to purchase from South African resellers.
Where To Purchase From:
The Colourpop Website here: https://colourpop.com/products/its-my-pleasure-eyeshadow-palette
Pros:
- Attractive palette
- Highly pigmented (a little product is required)
- Cruelty free
- Affordable
Cons:
- Not available in South Africa (unless through resellers and purchasing through their international website which ships via the post office)
- Fallout
- Slightly stains skin
Summary:
This monochromatic palette consists of the prettiest colours that compliment each other when mixed, matched and blended, furthermore it’s the dupe to the Huda Precious Stones Amethyst eyeshadow palette. I absolutely recommend you add this palette to your collection.
