The fourth installment in this month’s makeup brand of the month is the Revlon Photoready Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation review, one of three products from the Revlon Candid collection.
Catch phases “Natural Finish” and “Anti-Pollution” caught my attention of this particular product, here is the beatdown of the Revlon Candid Foundation.
- Provides medium coverage that is buildable
- Hydrates skin throughout wear
This foundation boasts no oils or fragrance; it’s anti – pollution formula gives a natural finish and is water based to further amplify this feel.
Furthermore, Revlon Candid ingredients are a non-comedogenic formula – meaning that there are no ingredients that can cause clogged pores resulting in breakouts.
Subsequently, as my skin type is normal to dry skin, I found that this formula, although oil – free, didn’t dry out my skin – I loved how natural it felt – much lighter in comparison to any foundation I’ve used thus far.
Extra application of concealer on my pigmentation was required when using this foundation as it doesn’t provide full coverage – coverage is light to buildable medium.
In addition to medium coverage, I found that after a few hours of wear the foundation emphasized my laugh lines which does not happen with other foundations I’m currently using with the same setting powder.
Conveniently packaged in a pretty pump travel sized tube the Revlon Candid Foundation is petite enough to fit in any makeup bag.
The color match is average – not a perfect matched to my yellow undertone skin, however the formula didn’t oxidize – I used 310 – Butterscotch Caramel.
There are 31 foundation shades however, only 12 Revlon Candid colors seem to be available in South Africa to choose from ranging from pink, brown and orange undertones.

Besides amplifying fine lines, I was impressed that this lightly formulated foundation stayed in place all day and my skin felt breathable and looked healthy due to it’s claimed hydrating properties which of course is true.
22ml retails for R150 – 00 (It’s rather a travel sized product and not full sized)
The Revlon Candid Foundation price is affordable.
Where To Purchase Revlon Candid Foundation:
It’s essential to use a water-based primer and not a silicone-based primer with this type of foundation, as using the incorrect primer will result in the foundation caking or moving.
- Natural feel
- Smooth finish
- Does not oxidize
- Hydrates skin throughout wear
- Revlon products are not tested on animals
- Accentuates lines
- Not full coverage
If coverage isn’t a concern, this could be the foundation for you – provided you can find your shade match. I love how natural this foundation feels, it’s perfect for summer time when one appreciates lighter, natural feeling makeup.
Personally, I won’t repurchase this product as I prefer full coverage at the moment and I don’t like my lines to be visible and prefer a more yellow shade for my skin colour.
