Lockdown propelled me to rethink my makeup routine as purchasing my favourite international brands came to a sudden halt due to shipping regulations. Thankfully, transitioning to drugstore makeup didn’t feel like a downgrade, in fact it was fun to experiment with some of my all-time favourites, rediscover new products and play with drugstore makeup again.
Quirky packaging, whimsical marketing, a wide variety of products to select from and affordability is what drew me to the Essence Cosmetics brand which I enjoyed shopping online, while I stayed at home.

My Recommendations:
- Essence Cosmetics Limited Edition Body Mist & Love Blush Trio
If you are still able to find the Essence Cosmetics limited edition “Good Vibes, Good Memories” collection I highly recommend you purchase the body mist and blush trio.
The body mist came in so handy during this lockdown period as using my expensive perfumes was not an option, this body mist defiantly elevated my mood with its uplifting fruity aromatics. The trio blush is a gorgeous, blendable and buildable pigment which lasts all day.
- Essence Cosmetics 25 Ever Ink Liner
Perfect to achieve that precise eyeliner look, applies evenly and does not smudge. Basically everything you need in an eyeliner.
- Makeup Brushes
Plush, soft, affordable and beautiful – the Essence Cosmetics makeup brushes don’t feel flimsy but rather firm – the best drugstore makeup brushes in my opinion, blends and applies and picks up product perfectly.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Wide range of products
- Cruelty free
- Eyeshadows are well pigmented
- Attractive packaging
Summary
Overall, I enjoy the girlish appeal of the Essence Cosmetics makeup brand – their swanky approach to makeup is the perfect mood enhancer we can all use right now during these unsettling times of the Covid – 19 pandemic.
