Mixing a drop of serum to foundations became a trend back in 2016 however, we are seeing a surge in serum foundations entering the market currently as a new trend. Serum foundations are said to have a second skin effect and is a multipurpose beauty product.
I’m all for makeup meets skincare and have been using the serum / foundation mix for years, especially during winter. Here are all the details on how to step up your foundation game for luminous, radiant looking skin.
Estée Lauders iconic advanced night repair serum and the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation is my go – to for this beauty experiment.
The Estee Lauder advanced night repair serum is focused on anti – aging skincare and reduces fine lines by plumping out wrinkles and hydrating skin for a radiant, even complexion. It assists an even tone skin texture with its anti – pollution, probiotic skin barrier formulation. Additionally, it’s one of the highest rated skin care serums and was launched in 1982 with re-innovated formulations over the years.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is suited to skin experiencing the first signs of aging and mature skin with a stay in place formulation for full day wear and is still one of my most loved high – end foundations.
How To Use:
- If you require full coverage, add one drop of serum to about two drops of foundation on a mixing tray and mix with your foundation brush.
- For a more luminous, natural makeup look add two to three drops of serum to foundation.
During winter, my skin is more dry than usual with dry patches around my mouth and nose area. Usually my foundation without serum, will emphasize and further dry these areas with a tight feeling throughout the day. However, with the addition of serum to my foundation, I found these areas hydrated and even textured.
My skin does not feel tight but rather dewy and healthy. I love to brush a light tap of powder over my face to set my makeup and spray on fixing mist for a beautiful luminous, glowing, healthy look.
