Beauty product releases for the month of March were plenty. Consequently, it was difficult to narrow down last month’s beauty releases to a few, so here’s a longer list of top beauty launches than usual.

- MAC Macstack Mega Mascara

Viral March product launches began strong with this MAC mascara taking to the internet promising ultra-volume and length. However, you will need time to coat your lashes numerous times to achieve this affect. Additionally, the MAC Macstack Mascara doesn’t come cheap being priced at R490 – 00, if you are still intrigued there is a mini version available for R300 – 00. The overall reviews were positive but a good drugstore mascara can achieve the same effect with fewer coats and costs less than half this price.
- Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Longwear Liquid Lipcolor

Maybelline has mastered long wearing lippies with the new lippie on the block being the Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink Longwear Liquid Lipcolor that boasts 16 hours of wear. We saw the vinyl makeup trend in 2018, a sexy trend that I hope stays for a bit longer this time round. This has not launched in South Africa just yet, we might see it eight to twelve months later in South Africa.
- Makeup Revolution Contour Collection

A perfectly contoured facebeat is the ultimate facebeat and March has had its fair share of nude and bronze launches to amplify the bronze contoured look. Makeup Revolution has launched a full contour collection which includes contour sticks a mini contour palette with highlighter, bronzer and blush powders, cream bronzers and lip contour shades to match. The collection looks like a must and I hope it makes its way to South African counters soon.
- Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks

Whenever there is a Huda Beauty launch, it feels like a treat because we in South Africa are able to experience it first with the rest of the world thanks to ARC Store.
There are five shades available and retails for R560 with “coral cutie” and “perk peach” (already sold out online) being the most popular shades.
- Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer & Highlight Palette

Fenty Beauty is not known for their eyeshadow palette formulas, however this palette has received numerous positive reviews with application showing off as chiseled and as Fenty Beauty always does perfectly – compliments all skin tones. This might be the one Fenty eyeshadow palette to pick-up.

- Zara Beauty Foundation & Concealer

Zara’s makeup launch – Zara Beauty reminded us that there’s space for everyone and that a saturated market is the only thing that’s overrated. Their foundation and concealer launch stands out in true Zara style.
- Benefit Xtreme Precision Liner

Benefit Cosmetics launches always grab the attention of beauty guru’s around the world and their precision liner is something to keep an eye on.
- Dior Addict Refillable Shine Lipstick

Refillable makeup products are where the future of makeup is headed and Dior boasts a formula that is 90% natural with their iconic couture lipstick case now being refillable.
- Too Faced Born This Way Sunset Stripped Palette

Too Faced has lost its popularity over the years however I still love this brand and enjoy reaching for my Too Faced palettes. The reviews for this new makeup product have been generally positive, this one is worth the try, if you don’t mind adding another nude eyeshadow palette to your collection
- L’Occitane Youth Hand Cream

This luxurious hand cream from L’Occitane boasts plumper and brighter looking skin with anti – aging properties. With constant washing and hand sanitizing which is imperative to the times we live in – taking care of our hands is essential as alcohol dehydrates the skin leaving it looking dull and aged.
- Standard Beauty Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Polish

I’m loving the products launches that Standard Beauty is dropping this 2022 which are current and effective, the type of skincare that my skin (and bank account) is loving. Their latest drop is a face scrub for a smoother texture and diminished pores. Use code SHEENA.5 for a discount at checkout when shopping Standard Beauty here: https://standard-beauty.co.za
- Kiehl’s Magic Hair Elixir

Scalp treatments are a trend I’m here for and the Kiehl’s Magic Hair Oil which is a multi – purpose product that accelerates hair growth, nourishes the scalp and can be used on eyebrows too.
- Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Superfusion Facial Oil

Collagen is even more effective in skincare and Charlotte Tilbury’s new facial oil has been receiving outstanding reviews. Charlotte Tilbury products are available on Cult Beauty. (FYI – Cult Beauty now uses the post office for shipping to South Africa, so if you want your beauty treats sooner rather than later opt to have it shipped via a forwarding company such as Aramex Global Shopper).
- Makeup By Mario Ultra Suede Cozy Lip Crème

Makeup by Mario is here to stay, this beauty brand came in strong with the launch of his products meeting high expectations. Formulas and wear are exceptional all across his range and so I had to mention these lippies.
Overall, March has been an exciting month of launches for beauty products 2022 with focus on hydration, crème products and sustainable packaging and ingredients.
